If you want…

The main reason I say, you must sacrifice today for tomorrow, is the simple fact that tomorrow actually does not exist, the time is always now. This will never change, and the sooner you accept that, the more you will get done. The unfortunate, or rather fortunate truth now that you know this, is when you are not willing to sacrifice today for tomorrow, you will always be stuck right where you are.

My intention of this post was not to come off like an absolute know it all, like I always follow this guideline, cause I certainly do not. We all have those moments where we could either hang out with friends, and go have a good night out on the town or stay home and chase the goals you have set for yourself. This predicament always brings me to the same little voice inside of my head saying, “I could wait one more day.” This is where you have to bargain with yourself because sometimes your mind can be a little sh*t.

The first thing I do when that little voice pops into my head is remind myself of two things.

  • We can’t get time back.
  • It’s better to be doing the thing I don’t want to do in the present, rather than the future.

Put these on your wall or put them as your wallpaper on your phone. Think of some realization that will stop you in your tracks and make you think about what you actually want out of life. Some people may say “YOLO, I’m going to enjoy myself while I still can, my goals can wait.” I used to think this way too (and still sometimes do to be honest), but the more I kept saying that, the more I recognized that I am stuck and unhappy, drunk on distractions that keep me from even opening the door to my intended outcome (goal). What I mean by bargaining with yourself is maybe you can do your work tonight, feel great after doing it, and enjoy yourself when it’s all done. Then those things don’t become distractions, it’s instead a reward.

Turn your distractions into your rewards.

Thank you

As always, I really appreciate you making it this far.
